		<abstract>The spatial relationship between the Gold Mineralizations and the crustal scale NE lineaments of the Seridó Belt is not completely understood. The application of digital imaging over a mineralized area in the westernmost Seridó Belt has shown important results on the structural framework and its ignificance as structural controller of gold mineralization. In this area the interpretation of LANDSAT 5-TM images coupled with field data have shown that the mineralizations are settled along NW-trending subsidiary shear zones, that consist of ramifications of the largest NE crustal shear zones. Such observation is an important step in the study of the crustal architecture of the Seridó Belt and its gold mineralization shows how the techniques of remote sensing can be an useful tool to the prospection of gold in complex areas.</abstract>
